Unity must be maintained at any cost, so that the fallen tyrannical power cannot sit on our shoulders, said BNP Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman.
He said this while addressing the chief guest while virtually joining an Iftar mahfil in the capital on Saturday (March 22) evening. The Iftar mahfil was organized by a 12-party alliance.
Tarique Rahman said, there may be differences among our political parties, but if a problem arises, we will sit for discussions. Unity must be maintained at any cost, so that the fallen tyrannical power cannot sit on our shoulders. If the ideology is different, we are one for the country and the people of the country.
The BNP Acting Chairman said, the unity with which we bid farewell to tyranny, let us maintain unity at any cost. By maintaining unity, we will establish the democracy expected by the people.
He said, an emergent situation has been created; reforms and elections are being brought face to face. Democracy is about holding elections without fear. Yet it is being confronted with reforms. Many have said, 'There will be no elections before reforms'. Reforms are not over. This is an ongoing process.
2 years ago, ignoring the bloodshot eyes of dictatorship, we gave 31 points to repair the state structure. BNP's main goal is to work for the country and its people. Tarique Rahman said.
