Nahid Islam, convenor of the Jatiya Citizens Party (NCP), commented that those who try to rehabilitate the Awami League will be suppressed. He said that if Cantonment or India wants to make the Awami League politics, they will also be resisted.

He said this while addressing as the chief guest at Iftar and Dua Mahfil organized by Lalbagh Police Station at the Kara Convention Center in Bakshibazar in the capital on Saturday (March 22).

Nahid said not only the Awami League but also the allies of fascism should be brought under trial. Various institutions of the state have to be liberated by Awami League and those who are trying to rehabilitate the Awami League from different establishments should be subjected to punishment.

The convener of the NCP said that the institutions who assisted in the twenty -four movement should find the culprits and bring them under the law.

The leaders of the NCP Kotwali, Bangshal, Lalbagh, Chawkbazar and Kamrangirchar were present at the Iftar and Dua Mahfil held in the July Revolution.

Unity must be maintained at any cost, so that the fallen tyrannical power cannot sit on our shoulders, said BNP Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman.

He said this while addressing the chief guest while virtually joining an Iftar mahfil in the capital on Saturday (March 22) evening. The Iftar mahfil was organized by a 12-party alliance.

Tarique Rahman said, there may be differences among our political parties, but if a problem arises, we will sit for discussions. Unity must be maintained at any cost, so that the fallen tyrannical power cannot sit on our shoulders. If the ideology is different, we are one for the country and the people of the country.

The BNP Acting Chairman said, the unity with which we bid farewell to tyranny, let us maintain unity at any cost. By maintaining unity, we will establish the democracy expected by the people.

He said, an emergent situation has been created; reforms and elections are being brought face to face. Democracy is about holding elections without fear. Yet it is being confronted with reforms. Many have said, 'There will be no elections before reforms'. Reforms are not over. This is an ongoing process.

There is no opportunity to make the Army Chief controversial. The tarnished image of the cantonment and the Army Chief will not be good for the nation, said BNP Joint Secretary General Shahid Uddin Chowdhury Annie.

He said these things as the chief guest at the introduction meeting and iftar mahfil of the newly formed committee of the Lakshmipur District Ulama Dal on Saturday (March 22) afternoon.

He said that it is good for the country not to make the Army Chief controversial. He is in his place; he will remain in his place. But some controversies are spreading. This controversy is not being resolved. He took responsibility for the country like us on August 5 and 6.

Shahid Uddin Chowdhury Annie said that a deep conspiracy is going on in the country. I suffered for 17 years, to escape from the hands of oppression and torture. I fought for the vote. Now a conspiracy is going on about that vote. I will not accept this conspiracy. It will not be accepted, no opportunity will be given. We have sweat, labor and blood. Lakhs of leaders and activists have been jailed, tortured and oppressed. Our real interest is to protect the country and build a beautiful Bangladesh. To reach that target, a strong foundation of democracy is needed.

He also said that a deep conspiracy is going on to destroy our democracy. If there is a democratic election, someone or the other will come to power and rule the country. As a party of the people, BNP can expect this. For natural reasons, some people will not like it. Those who have not liked it for so long have fled.

General Secretary of the Gono Adhikar Parishad(GAP) Rashed Khan, has commented that the army is being made to face the people.

He made this comment at a stand and mass signature program demanding the Awami League to be banned and the genocide to be tried, organized by the GAP, Dhaka Metropolitan South, in front of the National Press Club on Saturday (March 22).

He said that those who are trying to make the army stand in front of the people and make it controversial basically want to bring back another 1/11. In fact, the political parties of this country will be the most affected by 1/11. In no way can another 1/11 be brought to Bangladesh.

Rashed Khan said that we have made several demands on behalf of the GAP.

They are - the genocide must be tried. Necessary state reforms must be made and an electoral roadmap must be announced. The people will not accept it if they make excuses about elections. The number one element of reforms is elections. When it comes to those elections, the advisors' faces turn black. They are greedy for power. They think that they will stay in power by doing anything. Fakhruddin-Moinuddin also tried to stay in power by doing anything. But, they could not. The people of the country have taught them the lesson they should have. Those who want to rehabilitate the Awami League, they learn by watching Fakhruddin-Moinuddin. They learnt from Sheikh Hasina.

Commenting that we do not know what many advisors of the interim government do, he said, we do not know whether they are actually doing official work. We do not even know the names of many. The Home Affairs Advisor has not yet been able to fix the law and order situation in the country.

Stating that no one can do politics in the name of AL in the country before the trial of the genocide, the General Secretary of the People's Rights Council said, how many good people were there among those who did the AL? What clean image do they have? We still said that we will not oppress those who were ordinary and innocent, who did not shoot directly at the students and the public. However, after the genocide trial, we will release and forgive them.

No matter how clean the image is before the genocide trial is over, no one will be able to do politics in the name of AL on the soil of Bengal. Those who come to rehabilitate Awami League, the people will resist them.

He said, if necessary, Jamuna (the residence of the chief advisor) will be surrounded demanding the ban of Awami League. Awami League will be forced to be banned.
