First ship of the season arrives in St. Martin

The first tourist ship of the season has arrived via the Cox's Bazar-St. Martin route.

The ship arrived at the St. Martin jetty at around 4 pm on Sunday (December 1).

Earlier, the ship departed for St. Martin from the BIWTA jetty in Nuniarchara, Cox's Bazar town at around 10 am. Initially, 700 tourists were said to be on board, but later the ship authorities said that the ship had gone to the island with 592 tourists.

Joinal Abedin, the supervisor of St. Martin, a beach club run by the Cox's Bazar district administration, confirmed the matter to Barta24.com.

He said that the first tourist ship of the season has arrived in St. Martin with 592 tourists. The Cox's Bazar district administration has taken strict measures for their safety.

Cox's Bazar Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Salahuddin, who came to inspect the ship's departure at the BIWTA jetty in Nuniachara in the morning, said, "The journey to St. Martin's usually starts from November. Due to various decisions of the government, the ship's operation has started today only this year. Tourists will have to follow various rules and regulations to protect the environment where no polythene and plastic can be used. Tourists need a travel pass to go to St. Martin's. The Bangladesh Tourism Board has created an app with travel passes.
