Mushfiqur Rahim retires from ODIs

Bangladesh’s veteran cricketer Mushfiqur Rahim has bid farewell to ODI cricket.

He made the announcement in a post on social media Facebook on Wednesday (March 5).

Mushfiqur wrote in a Facebook post, 'From today onwards, I am bidding farewell to ODI cricket. Our achievements at the global level are low. Still, whenever I have stepped onto the field, I have tried to give more than 100 percent.'

He also wrote, 'The past few days have been very challenging for me and I have realized that this is my destiny. I would like to thank my family, friends and supporters, who have supported me for 19 years.'

Earlier, Mushfiqur announced his retirement from international T20 cricket in September 2022. He could not do well with the bat in the ongoing Champions Trophy which was being criticized. In the meantime, this veteran cricketer announced his retirement. Even though he has retired from white-ball cricket, he will continue Test cricket.
