Professor Abrar takes oath as an adviser

Professor CR Abrar of Dhaka University (DU) has been sworn in as a new member of the Interim Government Advisory Council.

At Bangabhaban on Wednesday (March 5) at around 8pm. President Md. Sahabuddin read him the oath.
Earlier, Press Secretary Shafiqul Alam said on Tuesday (March 5) that Professor CR Abrar will serve as an adviser to the Ministry of Education. Currently Professor Wahiduddin Mahmud is in charge of the education adviser.
Professor CR Abrar was born on August 8, 2012 in Faridpur. His father Abdus Sattar Chowdhury and mother Sofia Sultana. He passed the Secondary and Higher Secondary from Mirzapur Cadet College and was admitted to Dhaka University in the 1972. He passed his Bachelor and Masters from the Department of International Relations. He then received his MA from Sussex University in the UK and a PhD degree from Griffith University in Australia. He has been teaching at Dhaka University for four decades. 
It is to be noted that the interim government was formed on August 7 last year after the fall of the Sheikh Hasina government in the face of the students' coup. A few new advisers were appointed on several occasions. At present, there are 20 advisers in the interim government, including the chief adviser.
