Students and the public have conducted a raid on the house of Tanvir Imam, the son of the late HT Imam, political adviser to ousted former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, and former Member of Parliament (MP) of Sirajganj-4 constituency.

Eyewitnesses said that at around 11:30 pm, an announcement was made on social media and the media that Tanvir Imam's house would be raided by the students and the public. After that, about a hundred students and ordinary people gathered in front of Justice Shahabuddin Park in Gulshan-2. Around 12 midnight, the students and the public tried to enter Tanvir Imam's house with a procession.

At this time, when the security guard of the house stopped them, some students climbed the gate and entered inside. Later, when the gate was opened, hundreds of students entered the house and searched it. They searched every room of the flat, searching various luggage, drawers and chests.

Although a raid was conducted on charges of illegal weapons, drugs and a large amount of money being stored, nothing of the kind was found in the house at that time.

About half an hour after the raid, the Gulshan police reached the spot. The police asked the students why they had come here. After that, they slowly left the scene.

During the search, no member of Tanvir Imam's family was found in the flat. Only the housekeeper and security guard were present.
