The interim government has no role in the bus requisition for the launch ceremony of the new political party Jatiya Nagorik Party (JNP), said the press secretary to the chief adviser, Shafiqul Alam.

He said this in response to questions from journalists at a press conference at the Foreign Service Academy on Saturday (March 1) afternoon. Earlier, five buses were requisitioned from the Pirojpur Deputy Commissioner's office to attend the launch ceremony of the Jatiya Nagorik Party (JNP).

On Saturday afternoon, President of the Gono Adhikar Parishad Nurul Haque Nuru criticized the incident and said that students and the public came to Dhaka using government vehicles through the Deputy Commissioner to attend the launch ceremony of the new party, which is not desirable.

Regarding Nurul Haque's complaint, the press secretary said that the interim government has no role in the requisition of five buses by the Pirojpur DC's office. The DC assisted the families of those injured and killed in the July coup at their request. But the DC office did not pay for the fuel and travel expenses of these buses.

Stating that they had spoken to the Cabinet Secretary about this, the Press Secretary said, "The interim government believes that it is creating a level playing field for all parties, so that all parties can participate in a fair, free and transparent election. This is the main responsibility of the government. The government is equal to all parties. They think that most of what is being said there is exaggerated.
