Barrister Rumin Farhana, Joint International Affairs Secretary of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP), has commented that a quickly elected government is needed to improve the law and order situation.

She said these things in her speech as the chief guest at a rally organized by the Upazila Swechchasebak Dal at the Ashuganj Araisidha Kadir Bhuiyan High School ground in Brahmanbaria on Friday (February 28) afternoon demanding the implementation of the 31-point plan.

She said, why is BNP repeatedly pushing for elections? I will tell them to look at the law and order situation. What is the situation? Hijacking, kidnapping, snatching of goods, robbery in broad daylight. The overall situation is very delicate. When there is an elected government in the country, the administration and police are much more disciplined. There is organized force from the center to the grassroots so that the law and order situation can run properly. And when there is an unelected government in the country for a long time, the law and order situation becomes dire.

Former district BNP president and former municipal mayor Hafizur Rahman Molla Kochi, district BNP convening committee member ABM Mominul Haque and Sarail Upazila BNP former general secretary Anwar Hossain Master, BNP leader Md. Nasir Munshi, Upazila Swechchasebak Dal convener Ataur Rahman Babul, member secretary Russell Biplob and BNP leader Mohammad Ali, among others, spoke as special guests at the meeting chaired by prominent leader of Araisidha Union BNP Md. Mujibur Rahman.

In her speech as the chief guest, Barrister Rumin Farhana also said, "We have driven out Hasina, but have not yet reached the final goal. Our acting chairman Tarique Rahman has not yet been able to return to Bangladesh."

Addressing the interim government, she said, "This government is not elected by the people. They will not even contest the elections directly. What does it matter to them if rice costs Tk. 100 per kg?" But when we knock on people's doors for votes - we have to think that if the prices of goods increase, people will not vote for us. That is why an elected government is so necessary.

She said, in the name of elections in the country in 14, 18 and 24, a joke was made. None of those aged 30-34 has been able to vote so far. So everyone is eagarly to exercise their right to vote. Those who are in the government's advisory council are all respected people - each one is a bright star in his place. So respect the people's wishes, arrange for elections quickly.

Addressing the party leaders and activists, she said, it takes guts to do BNP, a party of cowards cannot do BNP. Those who have held onto their positions for the past 15 years have kept quiet for fear of the police when they talked about the program. They are creating disunity within the party. But, the dedicated leaders and activists must maintain unity at any cost.

Dhaka: No pro-India-Pakistan politics be entertained in Bangladesh. Bangladesh can never be divided again, said Nahid Islam, convener of the Jatiya Nagorik Party.

He said these things at the launching ceremony of the 'Jatiya Nagorik Party' at Manik Mia Avenue in the capital on Friday (February 28) afternoon.

Nahid Islam said, we want to talk about the future. We want to talk about possibilities, dreams. We have come here today to realize that dream.

He said, we have broken the conspiracy of divided politics that was established in the country for the last 15 years in the mass uprising of July-August.

The program officially started after 4 pm. The party's leadership will be announced. According to top sources in the JNP, Nahid Islam, who left the post of adviser to the interim government, will be the convener of the party. Akhtar Hossain will be the member secretary.

The main organizer of the anti-discrimination student movement, Abdul Hannan Masud, said that Nahid is the Imam of Democracy. He did not bow down even in the face of oppression.

He said this at the launch ceremony of the new political party 'Jatiyo Nagorik Party' (JNP) at Manik Mia Avenue in the capital on Friday (February 28).

Abdul Hannan Masud said that the Bangladesh of the future will be the Bangladesh of democracy. This is our promise to the countrymen.

The ceremony officially started after 4 pm. The leadership of the party will be announced in it.

According to top sources in the JNP, Nahid Islam, who left the post of adviser to the interim government, will be the convener of the party. Akhtar Hossain will be the member secretary.

In addition, Samantha Sharmin and Ariful Islam Adeeb will be the senior joint conveners, and Dr. The names of Tasneem Zara and Nahida Sarwar Niva, Nasiruddin Patwari as the chief coordinator, Abdul Hannan Masud as the joint coordinator, Hasnat Abdullah as the chief organizer (southern region) and Sarjis Alam as the chief organizer (northern region) have been finalized.

A group of young people who were at the forefront of the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement and the National Citizens Committee, which led the movement against the dictator Sheikh Hasina, are the initiators of forming this party.

Security has been tightened around Manik Mia Avenue on the occasion of the rally. Those arriving at the rally have to pass through metal detectors and archways to enter.

A new political party of the youth, ‘Jatiyo Nagorik Party’, has debuted. A group of young men and women who are at the forefront of the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement and the Jatiyo Nagorik Committee, which led the movement against the autocratic Sheikh Hasina, are the initiators of forming this party.

The party debuted at a program on Manik Mia Avenue in the capital on Friday (February 28) afternoon. Leaders of various political parties including BNP-Jamaat were present as invited guests at the program.

The Holy Quran was recited at around 4:15 pm. Then, readings were made from the Holy Gita, Tripitaka and Bible. Then the national anthem was played.
