Earthquake jolts Kolkata and even Dhaka

An earthquake shook the coastal areas of South Bengal at 7 am. The tremor was also felt in Kolkata. The magnitude of the tremor was 5.1 on the Richter scale. The tremor was also felt in Bangladesh and Odisha.
The National Center for Seismology said that the earthquake was felt at 6:10 am on Tuesday. The epicenter of the earthquake was in the Bay of Bengal and at a depth of 91 kilometers. The images released by the National Center for Seismology show that the tremor was felt in the coastal areas of Odisha and West Bengal and adjacent areas. Tremors were also felt in some areas of the western coast of Bangladesh.
