The High Court has upheld the death sentence of 20 accused sentenced to death by the trial court in the much-discussed BUET student Abrar Fahad murder case. The High Court has also upheld the life imprisonment of the remaining 5.

The High Court bench of Justice AKM Asaduzzaman and Justice Syed Enayet Hossain announced the verdict on Sunday (March 16) afternoon.

Attorney General Md. Asaduzzaman, Deputy Attorney General KB Rumi, Zahirul Islam Sumon, Nur Mohammad Azmi, Assistant Attorney General Barrister Sumaiya Aziz were present in the court during the announcement of the verdict.

Lawyers Masud Hasan Chowdhury and Azizur Rahman Dulu were present for the accused. Abrar Fahad's family members were present in the courtroom.
