Order to seize land and flats of Sheikh Hasina's family, including Sudha Sadan

The court has ordered the seizure of land and flats of former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina's personal residence, Sudha Sadan, and her family members.

In addition, an order has been issued to freeze 124 bank accounts related to Sheikh Hasina, her sister Sheikh Rehana, son Sajeeb Wazed Joy and daughter Saima Wazed Putul, and their interests.

Dhaka Metropolitan Senior Special Judge Md. Zakir Hossain issued the order in response to two separate applications by the ACC on Tuesday.

ACC Deputy Director Monirul Islam filed an application seeking the seizure of these properties.

Among the assets ordered to be seized are the house Sudha Sadan, which is in the name of Joy and Putul, with a market value of Tk. 3 crore 30 lakh. A flat in Gulshan in the name of Tulip Siddique. Its market value is Tk. 43 lakh 24 thousand 920. Sheikh Rehana has 8.5 kathas of land worth Tk. 875,500 in Gazipur, 1.55 acre of land worth Tk. 3 lakh in another place in Gazipur and a flat worth Tk. 18 lakh in Segunbagicha. Six flats in Gulshan in the name of Radwan Mujib Siddique Bobby have been seized. The market value of these flats is Tk. 4 crore 82 lakh 10 thousand.

The ACC application states that the alleged persons concerned are Sheikh Hasina, her son Sajib Ahmed Wazed Joy, her daughter Saima Wazed Putul, her younger sister Sheikh Rehana Siddique, Rehana's children Radwan Mujib Siddique and Tulip Siddique, who are trying to transfer, transfer or misappropriate the immovable assets. In such a situation, in the interest of a fair investigation of the complaint, an attachment order must be made to the effect that they cannot change or transfer the ownership of the immovable property or property or transfer it in any other process until the investigation is completed.

The application for blocking the bank account stated that the complainants are trying to transfer, transfer or misappropriate the movable property elsewhere. In the interest of a fair investigation, these bank accounts must be blocked immediately.
