Dhaka: Home Affairs Adviser Lieutenant General (Retd.) Md. Jahangir Alam Chowdhury went to the Combined Military Hospital (CMH) to see the child who was raped in Magura and ordered a strict stance against harassment and rape of women.

He went to the CMH to see the child on Sunday (March 9) morning.

At that time, the adviser inquired about the child's treatment and instructed the hospital authorities to ensure the highest medical services. Senior officials of the Combined Military Hospital were present at the time.

The Home Affairs Adviser said that a case has been filed against four people at Magura Sadar Police Station in the case of rape and attempted murder of an eight-year-old child in Magura and the police have arrested four accused in the case. The Home Ministry is vocal about ensuring that the culprits do not get away with anything.

The adviser said, I have ordered the law enforcement agencies to take a strict stand against harassment and rape of women. I have instructed them to quickly complete the investigation and submit a report to the court after listing all the cases of violence against women so far.

He said, the criminals involved in the recent rape incidents will be brought to justice. They will be brought under strict punishment. Women will perform their duties at home and outside without fear and without hindrance. Those who come to hinder them and commit violence will be brought under the law. No concession will be made in this regard.

Jahangir Alam Chowdhury said, everyone should be aware and vocal against violence against women. Family, social and moral values should be nurtured.

After learning about the incident on Thursday afternoon, the Home Affairs Adviser called the child's mother to inquire and assured her of the highest medical care from the government.

It is worth noting that on Saturday, the child was brought from Dhaka Medical College Hospital to Dhaka Combined Military Hospital for advanced medical care.
