In this situation, the family is planning to take him abroad for advanced treatment. Some hospitals have already been contacted. The hospital authorities said the information in a press release.

According to the press release, Arefin Siddique is on life support. Since they are not working brain, surgery is not possible. The condition of his heart is slowly getting worse. The amount of platelets in the blood has dropped to 3,000. Doctors gave him new drugs to keep the heart active.

All the reports of Arefin Siddique have been collected and sent by email to various hospitals abroad. The doctors of the country are cooperating in this regard.

Dhaka: The High Court has ordered to complete the trial of the case filed in the rape case of an 8-year-old child in Magura within 180 days. The Women and Children Repression and Prevention Tribunal has been asked to implement this order.

The High Court bench of Justice Farah Mahbub and Justice Debashish Roy Chowdhury gave this order on Sunday (March 9).

Earlier, Barrister Mahsib Hossain brought to the court's attention a report published in a newspaper about the child who was raped in Magura. He requested that necessary measures be taken to protect the child's health. Later, the High Court ordered to remove all the pictures of the child who was raped from social media.

At that time, the High Court said that those who are publishing the pictures of the child who was raped are breaking the law. This is unfair. If the pictures are not removed within the stipulated time, a new order will be issued.

Meanwhile, three days after the rape incident, the victim's mother filed a case with the Magura Sadar Police Station yesterday. Four people have been accused in this. All of them have been arrested by the police. The arrested are the child's brother-in-law Sajib Sheikh, Sajib's brother Ratul Sheikh, father Hitu Sheikh and mother Jabeda Begum. The complaint states that the eight-year-old child was raped by her sister's father-in-law Hitu Sheikh.

The family said that the eight-year-old child was raped last Wednesday. First, she was admitted to Magura Sadar Hospital. When her condition deteriorated, she was transferred from there to Faridpur Medical College Hospital. There too, her condition did not improve. Later, on Thursday night, the child was admitted to Dhaka Medical College Hospital in an unconscious state. When her condition deteriorated, the child was given life support last Friday night.

When her condition deteriorated further, the child was transferred to the Combined Military Hospital (CMH) in the capital around 5 pm for advanced treatment.

Dhaka: The issue of Teesta water sharing did not figure in the two-day meeting of the Technical Expert Committee under the supervision of the Joint River Commission (JRC) of Bangladesh and India on the Ganga-Padma Water Sharing Agreement.

The members of the Bangladesh delegation returned home on Saturday after the meeting held on Friday.

According to the news published in the press, citing diplomatic sources from both countries, there was no discussion on the Teesta water sharing between Bangladesh and India in the River Commission meeting this time. However, pollution was discussed in the meeting. Indian representatives said in the meeting that pollution is increasing due to the presence of sugar mills along several rivers in Bangladesh and that pollution is spreading to some areas bordering West Bengal. Bangladesh representatives have assured to look into the matter.

According to the news published, although there was a discussion on the water sharing of Teesta and Ganga in the tripartite meeting held in Kolkata on March 6 and 7, no discussion was held on Teesta in the end. The meeting was attended by representatives of the Indian central government, the secretary of the irrigation and manpower department of the West Bengal government, and a delegation from Bangladesh.

An 11-member delegation led by Bangladesh River Commission (JRC) member Muhammad Abul Hossain visited the Farakka Barrage before joining the meeting. The delegation mentioned in the meeting that water levels in some rivers in Bangladesh are decreasing due to the dams on the Mahananda River. However, the West Bengal government said that the flow of the Mahananda is inward within the state and if the flow changes, it will affect the state and not Bangladesh. It has been assured to look into the matter.

The 30-year Ganga-Padma Water Treaty will expire in December next year. It is important to renew the treaty before then. Those concerned said that various aspects of water sharing were discussed in the joint meeting in Kolkata on Thursday and Friday. A committee is being formed to determine the water sharing calculation for the treaty. Issues related to early warning and flood forecasting regarding water release during the monsoon were also discussed in the meeting.

It is learnt that the two countries will submit the decisions of the meeting held in Kolkata to their respective ministries. Based on that, discussions on the renewal of the water sharing agreement will begin in the plenary meeting of the Joint Rivers Commission in the coming days.

Dhaka: Home Affairs Adviser Lieutenant General (Retd.) Md. Jahangir Alam Chowdhury went to the Combined Military Hospital (CMH) to see the child who was raped in Magura and ordered a strict stance against harassment and rape of women.

He went to the CMH to see the child on Sunday (March 9) morning.

At that time, the adviser inquired about the child's treatment and instructed the hospital authorities to ensure the highest medical services. Senior officials of the Combined Military Hospital were present at the time.

The Home Affairs Adviser said that a case has been filed against four people at Magura Sadar Police Station in the case of rape and attempted murder of an eight-year-old child in Magura and the police have arrested four accused in the case. The Home Ministry is vocal about ensuring that the culprits do not get away with anything.

The adviser said, I have ordered the law enforcement agencies to take a strict stand against harassment and rape of women. I have instructed them to quickly complete the investigation and submit a report to the court after listing all the cases of violence against women so far.

He said, the criminals involved in the recent rape incidents will be brought to justice. They will be brought under strict punishment. Women will perform their duties at home and outside without fear and without hindrance. Those who come to hinder them and commit violence will be brought under the law. No concession will be made in this regard.

Jahangir Alam Chowdhury said, everyone should be aware and vocal against violence against women. Family, social and moral values should be nurtured.

After learning about the incident on Thursday afternoon, the Home Affairs Adviser called the child's mother to inquire and assured her of the highest medical care from the government.

It is worth noting that on Saturday, the child was brought from Dhaka Medical College Hospital to Dhaka Combined Military Hospital for advanced medical care.
