‘If they quarrel in this way, the people of Bangladesh will not turn towards India again’
India is ruining its friendly behavior. If you quarrel on your feet, the people of Bangladesh will not turn towards India again, believes Brigadier General (Retd.) Dr. M Sakhawat Hossain, Adviser to the Ministry of Shipping and Labor and Employment.
He made this comment in response to a question from reporters after visiting the modern marine terminal under construction in Chandpur on Tuesday (December 3) afternoon.
Adviser Sakhawat Hossain said, “We want to live in peace with our neighbors. But if they quarrel on their feet, the people of Bangladesh will never turn towards that country again. If you continue to harass Bangladesh like this, remember that it is a country of 18 crore people, not a small country around you.”
He also said, “There is no reason for India to do what it is doing. Those who follow other religions in our country are our citizens. We see their good and bad. Please do not do what the Indian media is doing. We want to have friendship between the two countries.”
Regarding the progress of the modern launch terminal work, he said, "The irregularities and thefts that occurred earlier cannot be caught even with a net. Now, it is our concern to ensure that there is no more theft. That is why I have come to see the progress of the work myself. If irregularities are found, the contractor will be blacklisted."
Present at the time were Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Mohsin Uddin, Superintendent of Police Muhammad Abdur Rakib, Chandpur Region Naval Police Superintendent Syed Moshfiqur Rahman and many others.
