10 Bangladeshis were arrested in a raid at the railway station in Bhubaneswar, the capital of the eastern Indian state of Odisha.
On Sunday (March 9) morning, members of the Special Task Force of the Crime Prevention Branch of the Odisha Police arrested the Bangladeshis. Among the arrested are six men, three women and a child.
The state police said that the Bangladeshis entered India illegally. No valid documents were found with them. They were staying at the Bhubaneswar railway station for the last few days. At that time, the STF seized seven mobile phones and Bangladeshi currency from the infiltrator Bangladeshis.
Multiple sources in the Odisha Police said that the arrested Bangladeshis entered India illegally through the India-Bangladesh border in Assam's Dhubri district. Later, they reached Odisha from there. No valid documents were found with them.
The Bangladeshis were staying illegally at the Bhubaneswar railway station for a few days. They were later arrested in a raid based on a tip-off. Legal action against them is under process, Odisha Police said.
