Chief Adviser's instructions to solve police problems

A discussion meeting was held on the advantages and disadvantages of the police in controlling the law and order situation, obstacles and what to do to solve various problems. The meeting directed to take immediate action on several issues for the welfare of the police.

On Wednesday (March 19), Chief Adviser to the interim government, Dr. Muhammad Yunus, gave instructions in a discussion meeting with the Home Affairs Adviser and concerned parties.

The Chief Adviser said that based on the results of work performance, district police should be classified and those whose performance is relatively low should be made to increase their performance. At this time, the Chief Adviser directed to take initiatives from now on regarding the preparation and what to do for the police to hold peaceful elections.

The Chief Adviser directed to take immediate action on several issues for the welfare of all the police who work at the grassroots level. The instructions are:

  1. Consider lifting the existing ceiling on risk allowance.
  2. Take initiatives to purchase 364 new pick-ups and 140 prisoner vans for the police.
  3. Release funds for ongoing construction projects of the police, the work of which is less than 70% completed.
  4. Release funds for the acquisition of land of 65 police stations located in rented buildings.
  5. Consider the issue of interest-free loans for the purchase of motorcycles for SI and ASI ranks of the police.

Earlier on Monday, the Chief Adviser to the Interim Government, Dr. Muhammad Yunus, held a meeting with 127 police officers on the law and order situation. In this meeting, the officers learned about their advantages, disadvantages and limitations.
