The police have arrested a father on charges of raping a child in Kotwali, Chattogram city. He was arrested on Sunday (March 9) night and remanded in police custody.
Kotwali Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Abdul Karim confirmed the matter. He said, "We have arrested a man named Pradeep Kumar Banik on charges of raping his daughter and brought him to the police station. The locals called 999 and informed us about the incident. The victim has been sent to the One-Stop Crisis Center (OCC) along with her mother and aunt.
He also said, "I have learned that the girl had secretly recorded a video of the incident. However, I have not received it yet. If a case is filed in this incident, we will take a statement under Section 22. Then we will know the details.
