The protesters have faced police obstruction during their march towards the Home Ministry demanding the resignation of the Home Affairs Adviser. During this time, the police and the protesters were seen facing each other.

The march started from the Central Shaheed Minar at around 2:30 pm on Monday (February 24). Later, at around 3:05 pm, the protesters faced police obstruction when they reached the Shiksha Bhaban intersection in the capital.

The police had put up barricades before the protesters reached the Shiksha Bhaban intersection, but the protesters removed the barricades. Later, the police themselves took a stand facing the protesters and stopped the protesters. There were also incidents of scuffles between the police and the protesters.

The protesters marched under the banner of Bangladesh against rape and oppression, demanding the resignation of the Home Affairs Adviser who failed to ensure public safety, taking effective steps to stop the ongoing rape and oppression on women across the country, immediate trial of all cases of rape and oppression, and rational reforms of the relevant laws.

Before the march began, a short rally against rape and oppression was held at Shaheed Minar. Various protest slogans were raised during the march. These included men's power, equality should be broken; let the protest spread from woman to woman.

Earlier, youth and students gathered at Shaheed Minar and wrote the main banner and various posters and placards of today's program. These posters and placards read: From mountains to plains, we want justice for all rapes; Culture of impunity, politics of rape; We are martyrs from birth; Where is the justice for Tonu's rape and murder, the state is a rapist - and other protest writings.
