Dhaka Metropolitan Police, RAB and Anti-Terrorism Unit will conduct a joint operation to prevent robberies and snatching, said Inspector General of Bangladesh Police (IGP) Baharul Alam.
He said this while attending a workshop on law enforcement with emphasis on human rights and infiltration in the changing situation of the country at the Primary Training Center in Rajshahi on Monday (February 24) morning.
Meanwhile, IGP Baharul Alam said, "Robberies have increased at night. Robberies have also increased during the day. I have decided to take a special measure to prevent robberies. Dhaka Metropolitan Police, RAB and Anti-Terrorism Unit will conduct a joint operation. I hope it will be implemented from Monday. We will see if this improves. Otherwise, we will have to go for another plan."
He said, "Operation Devil Hunt is mainly against those who commit terrorism and do anti-social activities. We started this a few days ago. Just look at who is being caught in the Devil Hunt. All the big terrorists, big smugglers are being caught.’
He also said, ‘A group does not want a stable environment to remain in Bangladesh. There may be a political motive behind it.’
