Cox’s Bazar: Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) AMM Nasir Uddin said that the interim government has given two deadlines for the national elections. The elections will be held by December or by June if there are major reforms.

He said these things in response to questions from journalists after a view-exchange meeting held in Cox's Bazar district on Sunday (February 23) afternoon to update the voter list with photos and mark the 13th Jatiya Sangsad election.

He said that this time the number of dead voters and new voters will increase. The final voter list for the next election will be available by June.

Commenting on the desire to hold elections like 1991, 1996 and 2001 with everyone, the Chief Election Commissioner said, "We do not want to get into this debate between political parties, whether the Jatiya Sangsad election comes first or the local government election. For now, the Election Commission's first goal is to update an accurate voter list. There are 16 lahk dead voters in the current list. They should be excluded.
