The 8-year-old child who was raped in Magura is undergoing treatment in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) of the Combined Military Hospital (CMH) in Dhaka.
The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) announced this information on Sunday (March 10) night.
The PICU is a specialized unit of the hospital. Critically ill children are given the highest level of treatment there.
Earlier, various rumors spread about the child on social media and Facebook. Various people even posted news of her death. In the meantime, the ISPR gave the latest information on the child's treatment.
On Saturday (March 8), the child was taken to CMH from Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) for advanced treatment.
The child was brought to DMCH in a seriously ill condition on Thursday (March 6) night. Later, she was taken to the hospital's Pediatric Intensive Care Unit. The child, who was undergoing treatment in the PICU on Friday night, was given life support.
The eight-year-old child was brutally raped in Nijnanduali village of Magura Sadar Upazila. Since then, she has been fighting for her life and death. Meanwhile, protests and movements are going on across the country demanding proper justice for all rapes.
