Ramadan moon sighted in Saudi Arabia

The moon of the Hijri month of Ramadan has been sighted in the sky of Saudi Arabia. Therefore, fasting will begin in the country of the two holiest mosques for Muslims tomorrow, Saturday (March 1).

According to news published in the Saudi state media on Friday (February 28) night, the Ramadan moon was sighted in two areas named Sudair and Ar Harik, and the Supreme Court decided in the evening that fasting will begin across Saudi Arabia from Saturday.

According to the news outlet Gulf News, there was a slight delay in sighting the moon due to cloudy skies in Saudi Arabia. Then, when the moon was sighted, the start of fasting was announced. Tarawih will begin in the country after Isha prayers from today.

Earlier, the governments of the countries announced that Ramadan will begin next Sunday in Malaysia, the Philippines, Brunei and Japan. Ramadan will begin in Australia and Oman from tomorrow. Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese wished the countrymen a happy Ramadan.
