Congress leader and Rajya Sabha member Sonia Gandhi has been admitted to Gangaram Hospital.
This information was given in a report by news agency PTI on Thursday (February 20) evening.
The report said that Sonia Gandhi is doing well and is likely to be discharged on Friday. She is under the observation of a special team of doctors. However, the exact reason for her admission to the hospital is not known.
Sonia Gandhi was last present in the Rajya Sabha during the Budget Session on February 13. Earlier on February 10, Sonia Gandhi had expressed concern in the Rajya Sabha about the National Food Security Act (NFSA) and urged the government to complete the census quickly to complete the population count.
She said that about 14 crore people are being deprived of the benefits under the Food Security Act. Sonia Gandhi described the NFSA, which was launched under the UPA government in 2013, as a historic initiative.
She said that the Act has played a significant role in ensuring food and nutrition security for 140 crore people of the country. Its initiative is commendable, especially during the Covid-19 crisis.
