No shortage in supply of daily necessities: Adviser Sakhawat

Sufficient quantity of daily necessities has been imported. There is no shortage in supply, said Shipping and Labor and Employment Adviser Brigadier General (Retd.) M Sakhawat Hossain.

He said this while talking to reporters after a check handover ceremony organized at the Secretariat on Tuesday (March 4).

He said that if any importer does not pick up the goods from the port on time, a three-fold fine will have to be paid.

Adviser Sakhawat also said, “Although there are some problems with edible oil in the market, the prices of vegetables have not increased.”

Earlier, checks were handed over to the families of six workers who died in the accident of the MV Al-Bakhera fertilizer vessel that sank in the Meghna River in Haimchar, Chandpur in December. A check of two lakh taka was given by the Workers Welfare Foundation and three lakh taka by the importing company Noapara Group.
