Adviser Mahfuz Alam has been given the responsibility of the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting after Nahid Islam resigned from the Advisery Council.
This information was given in a notification issued by the President on Wednesday (February 26).
Nahid Islam was in charge of the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting and the Ministry of Posts, Telecommunications and Information Technology. The position of adviser in the two ministries became vacant after his resignation.
Adviser Mahfuz Alam has been given the responsibility of only the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting from these two ministries.
In addition, the Ministry of Posts, Telecommunications and Information Technology will be managed by the Chief Adviser. With this new ministry, the Chief Adviser is now in charge of 7 ministries.
It is worth noting that after the July uprising, three young advisers to the interim government, Nahid Islam, Asif Mahmud Sajeeb Bhuiyan and Mahfuz Alam joined. Nahid Islam recently resigned from the advisery council to take charge of a new political party.
