The reason is that a chapati and two or three people can steal the chapati in so many alleys. But there is no fear of robbery. There is no other fear. Because a crime against property or this drug addict can do this work (mugging) from one person. As a result, now the work of all criminals is to engage in robbery. However, the situation has been bad for the last two days. Before that, there were very few incidents of robbery for a month. He said, another thing we have to remember now. We live in the era of media. Now if an incident happens here, it goes viral on social media within five minutes. I have been working in this city for a long time. I was the DC of this area for two years. There was still crime then. It is not that crime never existed. You all know that there was a BNP slum. There were drug dens there, robbery was still a crime. But then the media was not as advanced as it is now. That's why there wasn't so much publicity. But now, as soon as an incident happens, one person makes a video. Even before a crime, ten people would come forward and try to prevent it. Now, instead of reading it, they take out their mobile phones from their pockets and are busy filming. Instead of helping that person who is in danger, they make a video. So I request everyone to come and create resistance. If a person is in danger, we all step forward.
A small number of police, a small number of Bangladesh Army members, this small number of RAB ATUs control such a populous city. About 2.50 crore people live in this city. Everyone has to contribute here and everyone has to work to keep the society crime-free.
